We're here to make the healing process a little less intimidating, with straightforward guidance and support when you need it.
01- KEEP IT CLEAN
Clean your piercing with sterile 0.9% saline wound wash as directed. Keep it simple — no alcohol, peroxide, harsh soaps, or homemade solutions.
02- HANDS OFF
We know it's tempting but leave that new sparkle alone! Avoid twisting, turning, or unnecessarily touching your jewelry. Give your body the time and space it needs to heal.
03- TRUST THE PROCESS
Every piercing heals differently. Be mindful of pressure, friction, and snagging, and remember that a piercing can look healed on the outside before it's fully healed inside.

We won't pretend you won't feel a thing! Most piercings involve a quick pinch or moment of pressure, and then it's over. Everyone experiences discomfort differently, but we'll walk you through the process so you know exactly what to expect.

Absolutely! Every piercing includes basic starter jewelry appropriate for your placement. Want something a little extra? Upgraded jewelry options are available for an additional charge.

At Backstage Beauty & Ink, we believe a little self-expression has no age limit — but safety always comes first!
Our minimum piercing ages are:
Ear Piercings: Ages 3+
Facial Piercings: Ages 15+ (nostril, lip, and eyebrow)
Body Piercings: Ages 18+ (navel and nipple)
Clients under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present and provide the required identification and consent documentation.
All piercings are subject to individual anatomy, client readiness, and professional discretion.

For clients under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present with the identification and documentation required for minor piercing consent.
We also recommend eating a good meal, staying hydrated, and wearing comfortable clothing appropriate for your piercing placement.

Healing times depend on the placement, your body, and how well the piercing is cared for. Earlobes may heal in a couple of months, while cartilage, nostril, navel, and nipple piercings can take several months or longer.
We'll go over the expected healing process and proper aftercare during your appointment.

For fresh piercings, jewelry must meet appropriate standards for material, sizing, and design. We generally recommend using our approved starter jewelry to help give your piercing the best possible start.

We recommend avoiding swimming pools, hot tubs, lakes, and other recreational bodies of water while your piercing is healing. Submerging a fresh piercing can increase the risk of irritation and infection.
